Guggul may be able to treat thyroid disorders in dogs.

Some Ayurvedic experts recommend guggul to treat hypothyroid conditions in dogs with definite low T4 thyroid hormone levels. Expected responses include improved coat and weight loss, but will take 3-6 months before fully noticeable.11

Other veterinary conditions guggul may potentially be helpful for include arthritis, high cholesterol, and stiffness in the muscles. Recommended dosages for small animals are 12.5-200 milligram of dried herb per kilogram of body weight, taken three times a day.11
